Crossing Borders: Meeting of Art and Mobility

“Crossing Borders: Meeting of Art and Mobility” was a symposium held at the Centro Cultural Universitario, Universidad Centroamericana in San Salvador from August 23 to 25, 2023. It brought together researchers, artists, and other community members in dialogue around ideas and issues of mobility and migration in the region. 

The symposium was organized by Central American University (UCA), the University Cultural Centre (CCU), and the Azoro Cultural Association and co-presented by Hemispheric Encounters. 

The video, created by the University Cultural Centre, highlights some of the powerful conversations, performances, and activities from the gathering including interviews with two (of three) of Hemispheric Encounters’  incredible Mobilities Cluster co-leaders: Amparo Marroquín (who organized the symposium!) and Alina Peña.
