CHRONIC \u00e9 uma medita\u00e7\u00e3o interativa sobre o incur\u00e1vel e o implac\u00e1vel. Com pai veterano da guerra do Vietnam completamente incapacitado, Jehan Robertson dedica-se a explorar os legados da viol\u00eancia e da neglig\u00eancia sancionadas pelo Estado, a guerra qu\u00edmica e o que \u00e9 transmitido para as gera\u00e7\u00f5es futuras e a desumaniza\u00e7\u00e3o cont\u00ednua dos povos negros como algo intr\u00ednseco ao projeto global americano. Reutilizando frascos de comprimidos coletados dos v\u00e1rios medicamentos usados por ela, CHRONIC convida o p\u00fablico a oferecer seus pr\u00f3prios rem\u00e9dios e receitas com o prop\u00f3sito de cura. Esses rem\u00e9dios formar\u00e3o a base de um discurso po\u00e9tico, um apelo coletivo \u00e0 repara\u00e7\u00e3o e \u00e0 cura. Do material ao f\u00edsico e ps\u00edquico, CHRONIC \u00e9 uma performance colaborativa que nos roga confrontar as condi\u00e7\u00f5es cr\u00f4nicas com que todos convivemos e nas quais somos confinados, e para come\u00e7ar a imaginar o contr\u00e1rio. <\/p>\n\n

On the Table Off the Table foi uma s\u00e9rie de trabalhos de performance comissionados pelo FADO Performance Art Centre<\/a> (centro FADO de arte de performance), que se envolveu com a mesa como contexto, palco e tropo. Tanto mirando \u00e0 neutralidade est\u00e9tica ou exigindo aten\u00e7\u00e3o como objeto escolhido, a mesa reaparece ao longo da hist\u00f3ria da performance, vezes ocupando o centro do palco, vezes escondida \u00e0 vista de todos. <\/p>\n\n

Nesta s\u00e9rie, artistas que trabalham na conflu\u00eancia da arte da performance e de uma s\u00e9rie de pr\u00e1ticas diversas – da escrita \u00e0 dan\u00e7a, do som \u00e0 m\u00e1gica – criaram trabalhos ao vivo em di\u00e1logo com as tradi\u00e7\u00f5es da performance sobre, ao redor e em cima de mesas.<\/p>\n\n

Como a primeira s\u00e9rie ao vivo p\u00f3s(?)-pand\u00eamica do FADO, On the Table Off the Table procurou oferecer aos artistas e ao p\u00fablico uma oportunidade de reaprenderem juntos como habitar o espa\u00e7o de apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o p\u00fablica, redescobrindo a esta\u00e7\u00e3o de trabalho solit\u00e1ria como um local de encontro e divers\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n

A performance de Jehan Roberson foi co-apresentada pela FADO e pela Hemispheric Encounters em 1\u00ba de outubro de 2022 na FADO, 401 Richmond Street West. A curadoria de On the Table Off the Table foi feita por Shanon Cochrane e Francesco Gagliardi. <\/p>\n\n
