Hija de un veterano de Vietnam con discapacidad, Jehan Roberson explora los legados de la violencia y el abandono avalados por el Estado, los efectos de la guerra qu\u00edmica, lo que se transmite a las generaciones futuras y la continua deshumanizaci\u00f3n de las poblaciones negras que sigue siendo intr\u00ednseca al proyecto global estadounidense. Reutilizando los frascos de los distintos medicamentos que toma, CHRONIC invita al p\u00fablico a ofrecer sus propios remedios y recetas para sanar. Los remedios propuestos constituir\u00e1n la base de un discurso po\u00e9tico, una llamada colectiva a la reparaci\u00f3n y a la curaci\u00f3n. De lo material a lo f\u00edsico y ps\u00edquico, CHRONIC es una performance colaborativa que nos insta a enfrentar las condiciones cr\u00f3nicas con las que vivimos\u2014y dentro de las que vivimos\u2014para as\u00ed comenzar a imaginar otras posibilidades.<\/p>\n\n<p>On the Table Off the Table fue una serie de performances encargadas por <a href=\"https:\/\/performanceart.ca\/\">FADO Performance Art Centre <\/a>que utilizaron la mesa como contexto, escenario y tropo. Aspirando a la neutralidad est\u00e9tica o reclamando atenci\u00f3n como objeto elegido, la mesa reaparece a lo largo de la historia de la performance, a veces ocupando el centro del escenario, otras ocult\u00e1ndose a simple vista.<\/p>\n\n<p>En esta serie, artistas interdisciplinarios que entrelazan performance con diversas pr\u00e1cticas\u2014desde la escritura a la danza, desde el sonido a la magia\u2014crearon obras que dialogan con tradiciones de performance sobre, en torno y encima de mesas.<\/p>\n\n<p>Como la primera serie en vivo post(?) pandemia de FADO, On the Table Off the Table se propuso ofrecer a artistas y al p\u00fablico la oportunidad de reaprender juntos a habitar el espacio de la presentaci\u00f3n p\u00fablica, redescubriendo el puesto de trabajo solitario como lugar de reuni\u00f3n y juego.<\/p>\n\n<p>La performance de Jehan Roberson fue co-presentada por FADO y Encuentros Hemisf\u00e9ricos el 1 de octubre de 2022 en FADO, 401 Richmond Street West.
